Minor boy hangs self for new dress in Odisha

Balasore: In a tragic incident, a minor boy took extreme step to end his life after his poor mother refused to buy a new dress for him.

The incident was reported from Bardhanpur village under Balasore Sadar police limits on Sunday.

The deceased identified as Dambaru Dalai (12), a Class V student at Bardhanpur primary school and son of late Mangal Dalai, was found hanging inside the toilet on Sunday morning.

According reports, Dambaru asked for a new dress to attend his father’s death anniversary. When his mother denied him, he allegedly hung self with a scarf of his sister inside toilet on Saturday night.

Police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem yesterday.
