Bhadrak: A woman and her daughter were allegedly killed today by a minor boy at Raimani village under Rural police limits in Bhadrak district. The disrobed body of the victim woman was spotted while lying in a farmland near Raimani Chhak.

Identities of the deceased woman and her six-year-old daughter have not been ascertained yet.

According to a source, the woman used to eke out her living by working as a daily wager. The alleged murder was a fallout of arrear wage. Some locals spotted the body of the minor girl near Bangalisahi locality. Their bodies had injury marks when found.

On being informed, local police detained the 14-year-old boy. He is now being interrogated to gather more information. A detailed probe into the killing is underway, a senior cop said.

“A probe is underway from suspected rape and murder angles,” the senior cop of local PS stated.

Rural police seized the two bodies and registered a case in connection with the alleged murder. A probe team has sent the bodies to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and a report is awaited.
