Minor boy meets watery grave in Odisha’s Koraput

Borigumma: In a tragic incident, a minor boy drowned in a pond in Odisha’s Koraput district today morning. The deceased was identified as Nrusingha Nanda Tanti (12) from Ranasapur village under Borigumma block of the district.

Nrusingha Nanda went to a pond near his village along with some of his friends to clean himself after attending nature’s call at a nearby field this morning. He reportedly fell into deep water of the pond. Though his friends tried to save him, the minor boy drowned in the pond.

Later his family members reached the spot and rescued the minor boy in unconscious state. He was rushed to the Bisinghpur primary health centre where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for post mortem.
