Minor crushed to death during morning walk in Odisha

At least one minor was killed and four others sustained grievous injuries after a speeding truck knocked them near Gohirakhala under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal this morning while they were on a morning walk.

One of them died on the spot and others were critically injured. The deceased boy has been identified as Sambit Behera.

As per reports, a group of five students were out on a morning walk when a stone-laden truck hit them from behind near Gohirakhala this morning. While one of them succumbed on the spot, the others were rushed to district headquarters hospital here in a critical condition. Later, two of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.

Like any other day, we had gone for morning walk today also. While returning from walk, a truck hit us at around 5.30 am killing one of our friends on the spot. Two others have been referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital, an injured student narrated.

All the injured boys are students of class VII and IX, sources said.
