Minor gang-raped before murder in Odisha

Sundargarh: Police today recovered the body of a minor girl from a haystack near the football field in Malipada village under Lefripada police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

Basing on preliminary investigation police suspects that the minor was gang-raped before being murdered.

However, police said that things would be clear after post-mortem report is available.

According to police sources, the minor from Gopalpur area under Hemgiri police limits of the district had gone missing from her home on June 20 after failing in the annual Plus Two examination. Her family members had reported the matter at Balinga police outpost.

Further, investigation by the police is on.
