Minor girl abducted by tenants ‘raped’ in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police arrested a married couple for allegedly abducting their house owner’s minor daughter and repeated ‘rape’ by male accused during her six months of confinement here.

The deceased identified as Raju Guru alias Krishna Nayak (26) and his spouse Sumitra Guru (24) of Itapala village under Dhusuri police limits of Bhadrak district were sent to the Jharpada jail after their bail petition was declined by the court yesterday.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the couple had abducted the minor girl of their house owner over rent related issue and.

Both the minor girl victim and accused Raju have undergone medical examination.

According to reports, Raju and his wife were staying in a rented house at Santoshinagar slum in Bharatpur area on outskirts of Bhubaneswar. They allegedly kidnapped their house owner’s minor daughter over rent payment on March 28 and confined her for six months.

However, the victim managed to escape from their custody on Thursday evening. The Khandagiri police arrested the accused couple from a house following raid at a slum area in Cuttack.
