Minor girl among three killed, 4 injured as truck hits bus in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: At least three persons, including a minor girl, died and four others sustained critical injuries as a truck hit a bus in which they were travelling at Chandiposh in Odisha’s Rourkela city, early this morning.

The deceased were identified as bus driver Anupam Vivek Lakra, Satya Prakash Nayak of Rourkela, who was a bus owner, and a 12-year-old girl.

According to reports, the ill-fated vehicle was heading towards Rourkela from Bhubaneswar. The bus was parked near a dhaba when a speeding truck hit it at around 4 AM.

Satya Prakash and the minor girl died on the spot under the impact of the collision.

The injured ones, including the mother of the girl, were initially rushed to the Rourkela Government Hospital and later shifted to Jaiprakash Hospital here as their condition deteriorated.

Anupam succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police have started an investigation into the incident.
