Balangir:  In a fresh case of girls being sexually harassed in Odisha,  a minor girl has allegedly been betrayed after being impregnated by a youth at Chalki village under Muribahal police limits in Balangir district.

The girl, who is now 8-month pregnant, has sought help of the district SP for justice.

As per sources one Raghu Benia of Chalki village had allegedly raped a girl of the same village few months ago. When she became pregnant, the youth assured her of marrying her. When the 8-month pregnant girl asked Raghu to take her to his house, the latter refused to do so.

Left harassed, the girl turned up at Muribahal police station and lodged a written complaint against the accused. As the cops allegedly did not take any action in this regard, she narrated her plight before the district SP seeking his intervention for justice.
