Minor girl consumes poison after gangrape by 3 including lover in Odisha

Balasore: A minor girl consumed poison after allegedly being gang-raped by three youth including her lover at a hotel in Chandipur in Odisha’s Balasore district.

The victim has been admitted to the Balasore Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.

According to reports, the minor girl of Balasore Sadar Block area visited Chandipur Sea Beach on Friday afternoon. The couple stayed in a hotel situated at the sea beach.

Taking advantage of the situation, the lover allegedly raped the girl, and two others, who were with the accused, gang-raped the minor girl inside the hotel room.

Being betrayed by her lover, the victim reportedly consumed poison at home to end her life.

Following a complaint by the victim’s family, Balasore Sadar Police raided the hotel at 8 pm on Friday and detained all three accused youth as well as the hotel manager for interrogation.
