Minor girl drowns, 2 sisters critical while bathing in pond in Odisha

Nuapada: In a tragic incident, a minor girl drowned and condition of her two younger sisters became critical while bathing in a pond at Dharanimal village under Boden police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district today.

The deceased has been identified as Khusbupriya Sahu (11). Two others, identified as Khusli Sahu (8) and Upasana Sahu (7), were rescued in a critical condition and admitted to the Khariar hospital.

All of them had gone to the pond with their grandmother this morning to take bath. Unfortunately, the trio slipped into deep water. The three were rescued by their grandmother and rushed to Sinapali hospital, where Khusbupriya was declared dead. Khusli and Upasana were later shifted to Khariar hospital.
