Jajpur: Body of a minor girl was found hanging from a tree near Mukundapatra College under Jenapur police limits in Odisha's Jajpur district, today.

The deceased has been identified as a 16-year-old girl of Kantapada village in the area. Locals spotted the body hanging from the tree with a dupatta and informed the police.

Cops have recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated investigation to ascertain the reason behind her death. It is being suspected that she committed suicide by hanging herself.
