Minor girl gang raped in Cuttack; hospitalised

Cuttack:  In yet another shameful incident, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by miscreants  in Nemala area of Cuttack district late last night.

Sources said two persons working with a Jatra troupe had called her on pretext of teaching her dance last night. When she went there, the duo took turns to rape her and later abandoned her near a bush before fleeing the spot.

Today morning, her family members found the minor in unconscious state under a tree and rushed her to Nischintakoili Community Health Centre (CHC). Doctors said the condition of the girl is stable and if required she will be shifted to SCB Medial College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, Nemala police have detained two persons of the Jatra troupe for interrogation in  this  connection.
