Berhampur: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by three miscreants in Balisahi area of Odisha's Ganjam district last night.

The victim was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here in a critical condition.

"Three persons barged into our house with an intention of robbery. They looted gold ornaments and cash. Before fleeing the spot, they abducted my daughter," said the father of the girl.

The incident took place while the victim and her parents were asleep inside their house. The robbers broke open the door of the house, stole the valuables and kidnapped the girl.

They took her to a nearby farmland where the trio raped her, reports said. She was later rescued and hospitalised by her family members.

Police have started investigation into the incident launched a manhunt to nab the wrongdoers.
