Minor girl kidnapped, raped in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a youth in Odisha’s Balasore town.

The incident took place on Monday and came to fore last night after the Industrial Area police arrested the accused, identified as Bittu Badhot, from Srikrishnapur village.

On the fateful day, the accused barged into the house of the girl when Panchu Dola celebrations were going on in the locality and kidnapped her. He later allegedly raped her.

The mother of the victim had lodged a police complaint in this regard two days after the incident. Acting on the complaint, police conducted raids at various places and apprehended the accused.

Till last reports came in, he was being questioned at the police station. The accused will be forwarded to court, police sources said.
