The body of an unidentified minor girl was found last night near Balimela power house canal in Odisha’s Malkangiri.

The incident came to fore after locals saw the body lying stuffed in a sack and called up the police.

Even though exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, circumstantial evidence suggests murder.

According to a local, her face had been crushed with stone and the upper body was stuffed in a sack at the time of her discovery.

Local police have reached the spot and have started an investigation into the incident. Her body has been sent for post-mortem.
