Minor girl raped at forest in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a married man at a forest in Khamar area of Odisha’s Angul district.

The accused, identified as Guru Badra of Bariha Munda village, was arrested after the parents of the victim lodged a complaint with police.

According to reports, the 12-year-old girl was raped by the youth while she was grazing goats at a forest near her house yesterday afternoon.

The victim narrated the ordeal to her parents following which they filed an FIR at Khamar police station, on the basis of which Guru was arrested. The girl and the accused have been sent for medical examination.

“The incident took place around 4 pm yesterday. The accused found her alone at the forest and raped her,” said Khamar police station IIC Santosh Kumar Mirdha.
