Cuttack: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her relative in Niali area of Odisha's Cuttack district.

As per a complaint lodged at the Niali police station, the accused raped the minor girl after luring her with chocolates.

The accused has been detained at the police station for questioning, a police official said, adding that the victim was sent for medical examination.

Investigation into the matter is underway and action will be taken accordingly, the official said.
