19 Harassment Cases Reported from 17 Odisha Universities: Minister

Bhubaneswar: Incidents of harassment against girl students are on the rise in Odisha’s higher education institutions, with 19 such cases reported across 17 state universities in recent years.

Replying to a question from BJD legislator Tusharkanti Behera in the Assembly, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj informed that the cases included six incidents of sexual harassment, nine of mental harassment, and two involving indecent behaviour.
