Bhubaneswar: In association with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Electronics and IT department of the Odisha Government, the Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology (MAIT) organised a dynamic investment promotion event in Bhubaneswar.

The aim of the event was to develop Odisha’s strategic potential in electronics components manufacturing under MeitY’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS).

Held at the Lemon Tree Premier, the event brought together senior government officials, industry frontrunners, academia, and startup leaders, underscoring Odisha’s emergence as an innovation-driven manufacturing hub.

The day kicked off with a visit to the World Skill Centre and IIT Bhubaneswar’s SiCSem Pvt Ltd, where participants witnessed Odisha’s unique strengths in skilling infrastructure and material innovation—key enablers of the semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.

The Roadshow featured Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, E&IT Department, Odisha, as Chief Guest, and Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, MeitY, as Guest of Honor. Strategic insights on ECMS were delivered by Ashish Mishra, Scientist-C, MeitY, highlighting tailored incentives and forward-looking policies to attract focused investments into components manufacturing. 

This was followed by Lt. Col Harsh, DDG, MAIT, who highlighted MAIT’s role in facilitating industry engagement and strengthening the ecosystem through collaborative initiatives and policy advocacy.

With active participation from more than 80 industry representatives including startups & MSMEs and engaging one-on-one discussions between local ICT industry & MeitY officials, the event served as a high-impact platform for accelerating investments in Odisha’s fast-evolving electronics landscape.
