A Kolkata-based businessman was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified miscreants from Beheramal in Odisha's Jharsuguda district, today.

According to sources, the businessman, identified as Pratik Patodia, was kidnapped when he was going in a car to his spinning mill at Kirei in Sundargarh from Jharsuguda.
The employees of the mill, who were waiting for Patodia to arrive at the factory, telephoned him but his mobile was found switched off. Suspecting foul play, the staff went to Jharsuguda and found Patodia's car in an abandoned state with opened doors at Beheramal. His spectacle was found from the spot.
The driver of the car is missing and is suspected to have been kidnapped by the miscreants.
On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot with scientific team and started investigation. Three police teams have been formed to locate Patodia and nab the abductors.
