Rajgangpur: A staffer of a petrol pump was attacked today by some unidentified miscreants at around 11.00 AM at Jamapali under Rajgangpur police limits in Sundargarh district. The looters snatched away cash of around Rs 2 lakh from the staffer and fled from the spot soon after committing the crime.

The victim petrol pump employee has been identified as Anil Kumar Tiwari, a senior cop said.

According to the police source, three masked and bike-borne miscreants intercepted the staffer on the road when he was on his way to a nearby bank to deposit the cash. Near the bypass road, Anil was attacked with a knife and he sustained injuries in the attack and fell from his motorcycle.

The miscreants snatched away a bag in which the cash was kept, along with the entire amount.

On being informed, Rajgangpur police reached the crime spot and launched a probe into the loot.

“I could not see their faces as the miscreants were wearing masks. They kicked my motorcycle and I fell down. I shouted for help but no one came to my rescue from nearby areas,” victim Anil stated.
