Puri: Miscreants allegedly attacked staff of the Pipili Toll Plaza in Puri and fired two bullets in air, last night.

According to reports, six persons heading towards Puri from Bhubaneswar in a car had a dispute with the toll plaza staff over toll fee.

The situation escalated when one of the car occupants came out of the vehicle and assaulted the toll plaza employees.

In an attempt to threaten the staff, the accused resorted to blank firing before fleeing the spot.

One of the toll plaza employees sustained injuries in the attack.

On being informed, police reached the spot, seized a discharged bullet and started an investigation into the matter.

Cops have nabbed three of the accused in Nimapada area while they were trying to escape after leaving the vehicle. Efforts were on by police to trace and apprehend others involved in the offence.
