Sundargarh: An ATM was broken open by some unidentified miscreants after they barged into it by digging a large hole in the backside wall of the kiosk at Mahulapali locality under Sadar police limits in Sundargarh, late last night. However, they failed in their loot bid and went away empty-handed.
Owner of the house noticed early today morning that a loot attempt was made on the ATM. Later, he informed about it to Sadar police. A gas cylinder was spotted discarded at backside of the house.
On being informed, Sadar police along with a team of dog squad reached the spot and initiated a probe into the alleged loot bid. “The miscreants probably failed to cut the chamber containing cash due to some or other reason and fled from the crime spot,” Sundargarh SDPO Himanshu Behera stated.
A detailed probe is underway and police team is trying to accumulate information on the loot bid.
