Miscreants break open SBI ATM kiosk in Odisha’s Keonjhar, loot bid foiled

Champua: Some unidentified miscreants attempted to loot an SBI ATM by breaking open the kiosk at Chimila locality under Champua police limits in Keonjhar district, late last night. However, the ATM loot bid could be foiled as the owner of the house woke up and shouted, thereby making others alert.

According to a police source, the SBI kiosk is located in the posh locality facing the main road. The owner of the house where the kiosk exists heard unusual noises at night. He came out of the building and shouted. The ATM heist was thwarted and the miscreants fled from the crime spot empty-handed.

On being informed, a team of Champua police reached the kiosk and launched a detailed probe, which is underway.

“An iron shutter and a glass door were broken open. Fortunately, the loot bid was foiled,” a cop said.
