Miscreants hack two over political rivalry in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: Unidentified miscreants allegedly hacked two persons over political rivalry in Digapahandi area of Odisha’s Ganjam district, today.

According to reports, the bike-borne assailants, who were 3-4 in number, attacked one Bijay Kumar Sethy at Karapada village with sword and sharp weapons. Later, they went to Deokhali Chhak where they hacked Krushna Sahu, a juice shop owner, with the weapons.

The victims sustained critical injuries in the attack and have been hospitalised. Nuagaon police have started investigation into the incident while policemen have been deployed at Karapada village and Deokhali Chhak to avoid any untoward incident.

Efforts were on by police to trace and apprehend the attackers, who fled the spot via Karapada road.
