Miscreants hurl bombs in Odisha bank; loot Rs 4 lakh, ornaments

Berhampur, May 24:

Miscreants looted a bank in Odisha’s Ganjam district this afternoon after hurling bombs and decamped with cash to the tune of Rs 4 lakh and gold ornaments.

According to reports, six unidentified miscreants came on three bikes around 3.30 pm today and barged into Utkal Gramya Bank branch at Manitara under Buguda block in the district.

They threatened the bank employees and customers ransacking inside the branch and hurling bombs at the bank.

The wrongdoers fled with Rs 4 lakh and gold ornaments threatening the bank officials with dire consequences.

Bhanjanagar SDPO reached at the bank after being informed about the incident and began investigations.
