Miscreants loot cash, gold worth lakhs from govt official's house in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Miscreants allegedly broke into the house of a government official and decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth lakhs  in Bhubaneswar in the wee hours today.

As per reports, a group of burglars entered the house of the Additional Director of the Panchayati Raj department at Gandamunda within Khandagiri police limits at around 5 am and looted nearly Rs 1.5 lakh cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 8 lakh.

Sources said the theft was carried out in the same room where the official and his wife were sleeping.

On getting information, Khandagiri police reached the spot and started investigation. A case has been registered.
