Miscreants loot cigarettes worth over Rs 1 cr from container in Odisha

Khordha: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted cigarettes worth more than Rs one crore from a container truck on NH-16 at Ugratara Chhak under Tangi police limits in Odisha’s Khordha district, late last night.

According to reports, 4-5 armed miscreants intercepted the vehicle, which was carrying the cigarettes from Hyderabad to Kolkata. They forcibly took the truck driver to a nearby forest at gunpoint and tied him there.

The wrongdoers later looted the cigarettes from the container truck and fled the spot. The driver was spotted and rescued by locals. Tangi police have started investigation into the incident.
