Miscreants loot gold ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh from jewellery shop in Odisha

Bhadrak: Unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly looted a bag containing gold ornaments worth over Rs 50 lakh from a jewellery shop at Betada market in Basudevpur area of Odisha’s Bhadrak district, today.

According to reports, the owner of the shop carried the bag with him from his house to the shop. After opening the shop, he kept the bag on the showcase and went to the workshop located adjacent to the shop to bring the keys of the showcase.

In the meantime, two men arrived on a motorcycle, grabbed the bag and fled the spot on the vehicle at around 12.30 PM.

On the basis of an FIR lodged by the victim, police have started an investigation into the incident. Cops were examining the CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the looters.
