Miscreants loot jewelries from Odisha forester’s house

Rayagada: Miscreants looted gold and silver jewelries from a locked house of Rayagada forester here in the district.

The looters decamped with around 430 gram gold and 2 kg silver jewelries after breaking open the door of the forest official’s residence situated on lane 6 of Indira Nagar in Rayagada town.

A complaint has been lodged by the forester Sibani Patra at Rayagada police station.

According to reports, the incident took place in absence of the Rayagada forester, who had been to Berhampur along with her mother to meet her ailing father on August 10. After returning to home, she found the door was broken open and all the jewelries were looted.

“After staying at father’s house for three days, I and my mother went back to Rayagada on August 13 night. When we opened the gate, found the door lock was broken open and the miscreants looted jewelries from 3 cupboards and one box,” the forest official said in the complaint.

She urged the police seeking immediate action to nab the persons involved in the theft and get back her lost items.
