Miscreants loot jewelries worth Rs 36 lakh in Odisha’s Barbil

Barbil: Miscreants looted gold and silver jewelries worth around Rs 36 lakh from a jewelry shop in Barbail market here today.

Police sealed all the entry points of the town to nab the looters.

The incident took place at around 9.30 am at daily market in Barbil when the Maa Tarini jewelry shop owner’s son was about to open the shop keeping a jewelry bag aside.

According to reports, two miscreants on a numberless bike were waiting near the jewelry shop and fled the spot after taking the jewelry bag while the owner’s son was opening the shop.

The miscreant looted 40 kg silver and 600 gram gold jewelries worth around Rs 36 lakh, said the jewelry shop owner Amar Rana.

Based on the complaint, police immediately sealed the routes entering to the town to arrest the culprits.
