Bhubaneswar: Unidentified armed miscreants allegedly looted a man and set his car on fire near Pandua Sahi village under Balipatna police limits on the outskirts of Odisha capital, last night.

According to reports, victim Ajit Kumar Swain of the locality was returning home in his newly bought car, during which two miscreants intercepted the vehicle on the village outskirts.

The duo threatened Swain at gunpoint and took away his mobile phone and money purse from his possession.

The wrongdoers then made Swain unconscious by spraying chemicals on his face and dumped him at a farmland near the canal. Before fleeing the place, the looters torched the car, leaving the vehicle completely damaged.

Locals found the victim in unconscious state this morning and rescued him.

Swain has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Balipatna police.
