The incident took place at the branch of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) at VSS Marg under Sadar police station of Sambalpur district just after opening of the branch, S K Nayak, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) said.
The culprits in the guise of  customers stood in a queue before the cash counter. While the cashier went to the Manager’s chamber, for a brief period, the accused took away the cash in an airbag and fled the scene like gentlemen from the counter, the ASP said.
“Though the CCTV footage was not clear to trace the culprits, we will make every effort to nab them after closely verifying it”, Nayak said.
Though there were two CCTVs in the branch, one of them fixed at the entrance had gone defunct, he said.(PTI)
