MLAs cannot create ruckus during Question Hour in Odisha Assembly: Speaker

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the commencement of the winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from December 1, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro today asked the members of the House not to create ruckus during the Question Hour.

A decision regarding the same was taken at the Assembly Speakers’ Conference held in Shimla, this month.

An all-party meeting will be held on November 29, during which the MLAs will be apprised about the decision.

The winter session of the Assembly will be held with adherence to COVID-19 protocols as all MLAs will undergo COVID-19 test before the beginning of the session. A three-day COVID-19 testing drive on the premises of the Assembly will be held for this purpose.

The winter session, scheduled to conclude on December 31, is likely to be stormy as Opposition BJP and Congress MLAs may try to corner the government over the alleged links of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra with Govind Sahu, prime accused in the sensational Mamita Meher murder case.
