‘Mo Bus’ shuttle service in Bhubaneswar for Hockey World Cup

Bhubaneswar: After the technology-driven and citizen-friendly ‘Mo bus’ service, ‘Mo Bus’ shuttles will roll on the city roads for the upcoming Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup here.

In a bid to provide hassle-free bus services for the hockey fans and tourists during the international hockey event and connect them to Kalinga Stadium and Bhubaneswar City Festival ‘FEST’ at Unit III Exhibition Ground, the State government decided to launch ‘Mo Bus’ shuttle service from November 27.

The Mo Bus shuttle buses will be available from Janata Maidan to Unit III Exhibition Ground via Kalinga Stadium for 19 days till December 16, i.e. on Hockey Final match.

The service is aimed at ferrying the hockey fans and tourists, who will park their vehicles at Janata Maidan.

Sources said that the ticket for a non-AC bus has been fixed at Rs 15 and AC bus at Rs 30.

The shuttle bus service will be available between 3.00 pm and 11.00 pm. The buses on these above routes will ply every two minutes. A crew of 40 bus captains, 60 bus guides and 30 supervisors will be deployed for the passengers, said the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), which executes Mo Bus service.

With the launching of the shuttle service, the passengers can alight at hockey venue, then can visit Unit III for the cultural event and return from there on buses at night after enjoying the entire evening.

Notably, more than 30,000 passengers have traveled on the Mo Bus between Nov 7 and 23 since its launching on Nov 6 in the city.
