Mob vandalizes Odisha hospital, torches vehicle

Sambalpur, Sep 8:
An angry mob today ransacked the Public Health Centre (PHC) at Themra in Odisha’s Sambalpur district and torched its jeep and other articles over the absence of doctors there leading to the death of an accident victim.

As per reports, locals had taken one Girish Patel of Giripali, who had suffered critical injuries in a road mishap to the PHC for treatment.
Since no doctors were present in the PHC nor there was any ambulance to shift him elsewhere, Patel succumbed to his injuries.
Agitated over Patel’s death locals resorted to arson destroying a jeep and other articles of the PHC.
Palpable tension prevails in the area following the incident.
