Balasore: Mobile internet services in Odisha's Balasore town, which were suspended after a clash between two groups, will be restored in the municipality area from today, informed Balasore Collector.
"Internet services via landlines, lease lines, broadband, ISPs, and dial-up systems have been restored in Balasore Municipality area. Proposal has been sent for restoration of mobile internet services from June 24th onwards," the official said.
The Collector also informed that curfew will continue in areas under Town police limits till 24th June midnight with relaxation from 5 AM to 2 PM.
Curfew will also continue in areas under Sahadevkhunta police limits till 24th June midnight with relaxation from 5 AM to 9 PM. Schools, anganwadi centres and colleges will remain open in these areas, the official added.
The Odisha government had imposed various restrictions, including curfew, in Balasore Municipality area to avoid any untoward incident after the group clash, which had taken place near Sunahat here on June 17.
Notably, the clash between the two groups had left five persons, including a cop, injured. Around 15 vehicles were also damaged in the violent incident. The situation became worse as one of the groups resorted to stone pelting.
Alleged animal slaughter reportedly led to the clash between the two groups. Subsequently, the administration imposed curfew to bring the situation under control.
