Modernisation work: ECoR to divert, short terminate, cancel train services

Bhubaneswar, July 24: The East Coast Railway (ECOR) will divert, short terminate and cancel some of the south bound trains including to Odisha and Visakhapatnam passing through its jurisdiction from July 30 to August 9 as it will undertake non-interlocking work with commissioning of third line including other modernization work between Kharagpur and Shyamchak stations under South Eastern Railway (SER) during the period.

The trains that would be diverted are, 12253 Yesvantpur-Bhagalpur on August 2 and 9, 15227 Yesvantpur-Muzaffarpur Express on August 6, 12513 Secunderabad-Guwahati Express and 12515 Thiruvanantapuram-Guwahati Express leaving Secunderabad and Thiruvanantapuram respectively on August 3, 12509 Bangalore-Guwahati Express leaving Bangalore on August 1, 6, 7 and 8, 12507 Thiruvanantapuram-Guwahati Express leaving Thiruvanantapuram on August 5, 15901 Yesvantpur-Dibrugarh Express leaving Yesvantpur on August 4 and 15643 Puri-Guwahati Express leaving Puri on August 2.

These above trains will be diverted via Hijli, Midnapur and Asansol.

The trains that would short terminated are, 58002 Puri-Santragachhi Passenger from August 1 to 8 and 58001 Howrah-Puri Passenger from August 2 to 8.

These trains would be short terminated or would originate from Kharagpur and remain cancelled between Kharagpur and Howrah during the period.

The trains that would be cancelled are, 22874/22873 Visakhapatnam-Digha-Visakhapatnam Express leaving Visakhapatnam on August 7 and leaving Digha on August 8,22878/22877 Puri-Digha-Puri Express leaving Puri on August 6 and leaving Digha on August 7, 12277/12278 Puri-Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express will remain cancelled between August 2 and 9 from both the directions.

Besides, 22853/22854 Shalimar-Visakhapatnam-Shalimar Express leaving Shalimar on August 5 and leaving Visakhapatnam on August 6, 22890/22889 Puri-Digha-Puri Express leaving Puri on August 2 and 9 and leaving Digha on August 3 and 10, and 22201/22202 Sealdah-Puri-Sealdah Express leaving Sealdah on August 4, 6 and 8 and leaving Puri on August 5, 7 and 9 will also remain cancelled.

Passengers, who have booked their journey tickets and are being affected due to the above arrangements, will get full refund from any computerised reservation counter, an ECoR release said.
