Bhubaneswar: Southwest Monsoon is likely to arrive in Odisha in the next 4-5 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted today.
Southwest Monsoon advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Telangana and some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal today, the agency said.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Karnataka, some parts of south Maharashtra, Goa, remaining parts Rayalaseema, Telangana & Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of south Chhattisgarh and South Odisha, some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 4-5days, the IMD predicted.
On the other hand, the Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued heat wave warning for several districts of Odisha for tomorrow.
Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Bargarh, Nuapada, and Kandhamal, it said.
Hot and humid weather condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati, it added.
