Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government is planning to establish more eco-retreat camps in Kandhamal district this winter to attract tourists.
During a visit to the district on Saturday, Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Asit Kumar Tripathy attended a meeting with the district collector and other senior officials and discussed the development of tourism infrastructure in Kandhamal.
Discussed about various issues impacting full realisation of the tourism potentials in Kandhamal with Collector & other officials. Improvement of the forest roads to large numbers of waterfalls like Putudi required.More eco camps may also be developed.@odisha_tourism

Located in the middle of the Eastern Ghats mountain range in Odisha, Kandhamal district is covered with scenic beauties. He said that the district will be developed into a major tourist destination with different types of activities.
During his official trip to Kandhamal yesterday, Tripathy was fascinated by the unique natural beauties and well-maintained roads.

"Last year, an eco-retreat camp was set up at Daringbadi and it received an encouraging response. This year, more eco-retreat camps will be arranged at attractive locations," he told news reporters.
He suggested Kandhamal Collector Brundha D to identify roads leading to the dazzling crystal waterfalls at Kuturi, Putudi and Katramal and develop those sites into a tourist treasure.
He said that the roads in excellent conditions are passing through forests. The nature lovers can go on an exciting long drive.
The programmes such as motorbiking can be hosted for nature lovers in dense forests, he suggested asking the Superintendent of Police Vinit Agrawal to promote the district as a motorcycling circuit and link it with Chandaka on outskirts of Bhubaneswar city.
