Bhubaneswar: Rainfall activities may go up across Odisha as a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours, said the IMD in its weather bulletin today.
“A fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours. Under its influence, the rainfall activities may go up in Odisha. Several districts in the state are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall from July 19 to 22,” said IMD regional centre chief HR Biswas.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower has occurred at most places over the districts of Odisha with very heavy to heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Boudh and Malkangiri in the last 24 hours, he added.
July 19: As per the IMD prediction, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack on July 19.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha on the day.
July 20: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Kandhamal on July 20, said the IMD. Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh and Kalahandi on the day.
As per the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts Odisha on July 20.
July 21: One or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Puri, Angul, Jajpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Bargarh may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 21, said IMD in its weather bulletin.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada and Nabarangapur on the day.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts Odisha on July 21.
