More rain likely in 21 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: While incessant rain since last night triggered flash floods in several parts of the State, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre has further issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for 21 districts today.

As per the latest bulletin of the MeT department, moderate to severe thunderstorm accompanied with lightning,heavy rainfall and strong surface wind would occur in districts like Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Doegarh, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada and Sundergarh till 6 PM today.

Earlier, the thunderstorm alert was issued for 15 districts of the State till 2 PM today.

Following cyclone Titli, heavy to very heavy rain lashed several parts of the State during the last 24 hours creating flood situation mainly in Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts .
