Bhubaneswar: Ajoy Kumar, the AICC in-charge for Odisha, will lodge an FIR against Balangir royal family member and BJD leader AU Singh Deo’s younger son Arkesh Narayan for circulating a fake letter on social media.

Kumar made this announcement soon after Arkesh posted a letter purportedly written by the AICC Odisha in-charge to the Congress president in his social media handle today.

“Bravo! You have failed the BJP IT Cell in faking letters! Now I am registering an FIR against you for circulating a fake letter using my identity. You are losing badly and such actions show your ‘Darr’ my dear friend!” said Kumar in a Twitter (X) post today.

The purported letter claimed that the support for Balangir MLA Narasingha Mishra and his son Samarendra, who is now fighting the Assembly polls from the same seat on a Congress ticket, is on the decline.

“The support for Narasingha Mishra and his son Samarendra is on the decline due to hooliganism, corruption and land grabbing by the Balangir MLA. Our survey report has confirmed this,” read the purported letter.

The purported letter also claimed that the Balangir MLA has shown disrespect to the members of Dalit community. Besides, the veteran politician has also made derogatory remarks against women at an event, attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, it added.

“We have made a faulty decision to give ticket to Narasingha’s son Samarendra who is not known in the constituency and has no political experience. He seems to be a very light candidate against BJD’s Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo,” read the purported letter.

A few days ago, Adrija Manjari Singh, the wife of Arkesh Narayan, had urged the voters of Balangir not to vote for her in-laws in the upcoming polls in Odisha.

Adrija, the granddaughter of Manda royal family member and former Prime Minister VP Singh, had earlier lodged domestic violence and dowry torture complaint against her husband and in-laws with Dehradun police in Uttarakhand.
