Sambalpur: A female black bear and her baby died after an unknown vehicle reportedly hit them on Podabalanda-Badmal road under Rairakhol forest division in Sambalpur district today.

According to reports, a vehicle hit the bears while the duo was crossing the road in Chalmal forest range early in the morning.

The two deceased bears are estimated to be aged about 25 years and 5 years old respectively.

On receiving information, the forest officials reached the site and dumped the bodies following post-mortem.
