Mother, stepfather get life imprisonment for killing minor girl in Odisha

Balasore: A local court in Balasore district awarded life imprisonment to a mother and stepfather for killing their minor girl.

Hearing the case, Biswajit Das, the District and Sessions Judge, Balasore, convicted Baby Biwi and her second husband SK Abdul Rahim and sentenced the duo to life imprisonment for the heinous offence.

This apart, the convict duo has been slapped with Rs 5,000 fine, failing which they will undergo additional jail sentence of 6 months.

According to reports, Biwi along with her second husband, had killed her 13-year-old girl, born to her first husband, last year.

The complaint was lodged by the deceased girl’s father Sheikh Qutbuddin at the Balasore Town Police Station on June 22, 2022,

Public Prosecutor Pranab Kumar Panda was managing the case on behalf of the government.
