Motilal links: Odisha CB quizzes Happy Kar

Odisha Crime Branch (CB) today interrogated Himanshu Kar alias Happy, a government employee for his alleged links with Dr Motilal Gouda who has been arrested in connection with the publication of a fake gazette notification.

The Crime Branch quizzed Happy for about eight hours.

A DSP rank officer interrogated Happy for over eight hours, revealed sources in the Crime Branch.

During the interrogation Happy has placed some documents pertaining to bank transactions, contract dealings of his brother and wife before the Crime Branch for scrutiny, the sources added.

What has baffled Crime Branch sleuths is the Rs 2.5 crore balance in Happy’s bank account since he is a Class III employee in Capital Hospital. Crime Branch is trying to find out the source of the huge amount in his bank account.

Happy has been in news ever since photographs of him with Motilal appeared in the media. Allegedly, Happy worked as a mediator between politicians and Motilal.

It is worthwhile to mention here that a few days back Motilal while being produced in the local court had told reporters that he knew Happy.

However, Motilal had clarified that he had never had any financial transactions with him.
