Motorcyclist fined over Rs 1.13 lakh in Odisha’s Rayagada for violating MV Act

Rayagada: A motorcyclist was fined more than Rs 1.13 lakh in Odisha’s Rayagada district for violating the amended Motor Vehicles Act. During a drive to check documents of motor vehicles near DIB Chhak in Rayagada town today, the Transport Department officials along with Police personnel examined the documents of one Prakash Banjara from Madhya Pradesh.

The officials found out that Banjara was driving the two-wheeler with registration number after purchasing it from Madhya Pradesh. Also, the youth was using the two-wheeler without registration number for selling drums in Odisha.

He was fined Rs 1,13,500 for driving without a registration number, insurance document and driving licence. Also, he was penalized for helmetless driving.

This is the first time in Rayagada district a motorcyclist have been penalized such a big amount for violating the amended Motor Vehicles Act.
