Mumbai rains: Bhubaneswar-Lokmanyatilak express cancelled

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Lokmanya Tilak superfast express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar tomorrow morning has been cancelled due heavy rainfall and water-logging at several stations in Mumbai.

“Due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging in Mumbai of Central Railway, 12880 Bhubaneswar- Lokmanya Tilak Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar on 05.08.2019 (Monday) will remain cancelled,” the East Coast Railway (ECoR) informed this evening.

The bi-weekly Bhubaneswar-Lokmanya Tilak superfast train departs Bhubaneswar on Monday and Thursday at 7.10 am and reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 13.35 pm on Tuesday and Friday.

Due to heavy rainfall causing Waterlogging and landslide in Mumbai Division, the following trains to and from East Coast Railway will remain cancelled.

 

Trains cancelled:

 

12145/12146 LTT(Mumbai)-PURI-LTT Express from Mumbai on 04.08.2019 (Sunday) and from Puri on 06.08.2019(Tuesday) will remain cancelled.

 

Similarly, 18519 Visakhapatnam-LTT Express from Visakhapatnam on 04.08.2019 has been cancelled.

 

12880 Bhubaneswar-LTT (Mumbai) Express from Bhubaneswar on 05.08.2019 (Monday) will remain cancelled.

 

Notably, several trains were cancelled or diverted due to water-logging at railway tracks in Mumbai division on Sunday as the city expereinced incessant rains and a flood-like situation in Mithi river.

There has been no respite from the heavy downpour in Mumbai and its suburbs since Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in the city throughout the day as well as Monday.
