Murderous attack on defeated ZP candidate in Odisha's Kalahandi

This year Odisha perhaps witnessed unprecedented number of political violence in the ongoing panchayat polls. In yet another incident of hooliganism, a defeated Congress Zilla Parishad (ZP) Member candidate has been murderously attacked in tribal dominated Kalahandi district last night.

According to reports, opponent group launched murderous attack on Zilla Parishad Zone no 1 candidate, Muralidhar Nayak, under Thuamul Rampur block in the district, who had contested on a Congress ticket.

He was attacked on his head with a piece of iron bar.

The Congress leader has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Bhawanipatna and he was undergoing treatment at the ICU in a critical condition.

His health condition is stated to be critical.
