Every Odia music lover reminisces the creations of evergreen singer Akshay Mohanty fondly called as Khoka Bhai. In remembrance of the mellifluous singer, Odisha’s popular news channel ‘Kanak News’ and No 1 FM station ‘Radio Choklate’ have come up with a program to pay tribute on his birth anniversary on Wednesday.
The programme – ‘Mane Pade Khoka Bhai’— has been packaged with some of the timeless songs of Akshay Mohanty. The show has been hosted by eminent music director and singer Amarendra Mohanty.
While the show will be telecast on Kanak News at 2 pm and 7.30 pm, it will be aired on Radio Choklate at 10.30 pm on October 12.
Veteran vocalist Geeta Patnaik who has sung many duets with the legendary singer will also be a part of the musical programme. Besides, Antara Chakraborty and Bishnumohan Kabi will also pay their musical tribute to the evergreen singer.
Born on October 12, 1936 in Cuttack, Akshay Mohanty breathed his last on November 17, 2002 following a brief illness.
